One of Yoshihara Yoshindo’s signature motif is the blue dragon, also known as Seiryu in Japanese. The blue dragon is a legendary god figure in ancient China and represent the mount of the Five Forms of the Highest Deity. Notice the intricacy in the engraving from the bold curves of the spine to the tiny claws.

吉原義人の代表的な彫りの一つである、青龍の作品。青龍は、中国の言い伝え上伝説の神とされ、 西方の白虎、南方の朱雀（朱鳥）、北方の玄武と共に四方に配した四神（四獣）と並び東方の守護神と言われる。刀の波紋の美しさはもちろん、大胆かつ繊細な彫りに巨匠の技が光ります。
