The Japanese art of kintsugi reminds us that mistakes are a part of life; it's all about how we perceive them.
Using urushi, or lacquer, kintsugi artisans are able to take broken, cracked, and chipped items and repair them, adorning the repaired lines with gold dust. Rather than trying to hide these imperfections, the concept is to celebrate them and discover a new beauty from the "damaged" ware.
